Dieter Münch,
Finance Director of LUDWIG BECK AG

“The LUDWIG BECK share is an investment featuring an innovative growth strategy, a solid financial structure and ownership of the excellently located flagship store at Munich’s Marienplatz.”
More than 150 years ago, in May 1861, Ludwig Beck opened his button making and dress hemming workshop with 4 assistants and an apprentice. Simultaneously he opened a shop with two sales assistants and a trainee. Today the name LUDWIG BECK embodies Munich’s leading department store and one of the most successful commercial enterprises in Germany: LUDWIG BECK has grown into a quality brand in the German consumer goods landscape and, with more than 500 employees has become an established Munich institution.

The name LUDWIG BECK stands for quality, customer orientation and modernity. And – also in economically difficult times – it stands for success. This success can be translated into precise figures. Contrary to the branch development in general, we scored a turnover growth in the lapsed fiscal year and finished with a positive annual surplus. This success is based on our clearly defined and consequently implemented “Two Pillars” strategy.

Our flagship store at Marienplatz accounting for approx. 95 % of the overall turnover is the supporting pillar. The success factor is the consequent implementation of our "trading up" strategy offering our customers exclusive lines and a variety of brands to be experienced in a unique shopping experience.

Last years' success is a clear indication that with this strategy we are on the right track.

“Our future starts today – and we are looking forward to it!”
